SHOP LOCAL & WIN CONTEST RULES
1. Promotional Period: Small Shop Weekend (the “Promotion”) runs from Friday, April 19, 2024 to Sunday, April 21, 2024. These dates also represent the “Promotional Period”, which is April 19, 2024 at 7:00am Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) until Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 11:59pm Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).
2. Contest Period: The Shop Local & WIN Contest (the “Contest”) contest begins Friday, April 19, 2024 at 7:00am Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) and runs until Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 11:59pm Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), which constitutes the “Contest Period.” The Contest Period is longer than the Promotional Period, which has a direct effect on eligibility.
3. Eligibility: The Contest is open to all residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) who have reached the age of majority in their province at the time of entry AND/OR any minor that has explicit permission granted to them from their parent or guardian at the time of entry. Entries to the contest will be accepted during the Contest Period; however, only those entries received during the Contest Period that accompany proof of purchase (a receipt equalling a min. of $10) made during the Promotional Period are valid. A No Purchase Necessary option to participate in the Contest is available via the Contest Entry page.
4. Sponsor: The Contest is coordinated and facilitated by the Downtown Kelowna Association, or DKA (the “Sponsor”).
5. How to Enter & Qualify for the Contest: The Contest will be conducted solely online via the DKA website.
To participate in and qualify to be a winner of this Contest you must:
- Visit any participating location during the Promotional Period (from April 19 to April 21, 2024) and make a purchase of min. $10.
- Take a photo of your receipt.
- Visit the URL (https://downtownkelowna.com/events/small-shop-contest-rules/) or scan the QR code located on a Shop Local & WIN tent card, which can be found at all participating locations.
- Complete the online entry form. All required fields must be completed for the entry to be valid.
- Upload a copy (photo) of your receipt.
- Submit your entry.
One receipt = one entry. Therefore, multiple entries to the Contest are permitted provided that each entry is accompanied by a unique receipt for another purchase of min. $10 at one of the participating locations.
Entries to the Contest will be accepted until the end of the Contest Period: Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 11:59pm Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).
BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOUR NAME MAY BE POSTED ON DOWNTOWN KELOWNA’S WEBSITE, INSTAGRAM, AND FACEBOOK AND/OR SPONSOR’S PROPRIETARY WEBSITE, WHERE IT MAY BE VIEWED, SHARED (BY USERS) AND COMMENTED ON MY THE SPONSOR AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC).
A No Purchase Necessary option to participate in the Contest is available via the Contest Entry page.
6. No Purchase Necessary: By law, the Sponsor is required to provide a No Purchase Necessary option for entry. This option is available via the Contest Entry page. If entries are received via this No Purchase Necessary option, a second prize draw will be made for another prize (to be determined). Entries to the No Purchase Necessary option will be accepted only during the Promotional Period (April 19-21, 2024). This portion of the Contest is not available after April 21, 2024.
7. Draw and Winner Selection: Contest participants will be entered into a randomized draw on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at approximately 12pm Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
On Friday, April 26, 2024, the selected entrant(s) will be contacted privately by telephone call, email, or Instagram and/or Facebook direct message and notified that they have won. The selected entrant must then reply within 24 hours to accept their prize. If there is no response within 24 hours, the sponsor reserves the right to re-draw and choose a new winner.
The winner(s) will be announced on the DKA social media channels and website.
9. Prizes To Be Awarded: There will be four (4) Prize Packages awarded. These are as follows:

Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable or convertible to cash. No substitutions except at Sponsor’s option. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize or a prize component with one of equal or greater value, including without limitation, but solely in the Sponsor’s discretion, a cash award. Prizes will only be awarded to the person whose name has been drawn. Some prizes may only be awarded to those who are 19+ and older.
10. Collection of Prize: The winner must collect the prize within 30 days of the prize draw. If not collected within 30 days, the Sponsor reserves the right to withhold the prize for a future use. Prize winners must make arrangements with the Sponsor to collect the prize. If they are unable to personally collect the prize, they may designate and alternate person to do so. Prize winners and/or their designated alternate must produce proof of ID in order to collect the prize.
