PAINT THE MUSIC CONTEST RULES
Contest Period
The Paint the Music Contest (the “Contest”) begins on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) and ends on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 11:59pm PDT (the “Contest Period”).
Eligibility
The Contest is open to all residents of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada who are 16 years of age or over at the time of entry, except for employees of Festivals Kelowna and the Downtown Kelowna Association and their immediate family members.
Sponsor
The Contest is coordinated and facilitated by the Downtown Kelowna Association, or DKA (the “Sponsor”).
How to Enter & Qualify for the Contest
To participate in and qualify to be a winner of this Contest you must:
- Download the Paint the Music Entry Package from the DKA website.
- Create a design using the Design Template and Decal Placement Guidelines.
- Designs must be family friendly and free of commercial branding.
- Submit a design proposal by the deadline (Sunday, April 30, 2023) with PIANOS IN PARKS in the subject line, to marketing@downtownkelowna.com
- Be responsive within 24 hours of being announced a winner either by telephone call, email, or Instagram and/or Facebook direct message.
NOTE: Only one design/entry per person.
BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOUR NAME AND ART MAY BE POSTED ON DOWNTOWN KELOWNA’S WEBSITE, INSTAGRAM, AND FACEBOOK AND/OR SPONSOR’S PROPRIETARY WEBSITE, WHERE IT MAY BE VIEWED, SHARED (BY USERS) AND COMMENTED ON MY THE SPONSOR AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC). YOU ALSO GRANT THE DKA PERMISSION TO USE YOUR ART WITHOUT ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION BEYOND RECOGNITION AND THE REWARD AS OFFERED ($50 GIFT CARD FOR OPUS ART SUPPLIES ANDA $50 GIFT CARD FOR KING TAPS).
Draw and Winner Selection
Entries into the Contest will be judged by DKA staff between Monday, May 1, 2023 and Thursday, May 4, 2023.
The winning design will be announced on Friday, May 5, 2023. On Thursday, May 4, 2023 the selected entrant will be contacted privately by telephone call, email, or Instagram and/or Facebook direct message and notified that they have won. The selected entrant must then reply within 24 hours to accept their prize. If there is no response within 24 hours, the sponsor reserves the right to choose a new winner.
Winner will be announced on the DKA social media channels and website.
Painting of the piano must be complete by Friday, June 2, 2023.
Prize Package
The winner will receive public recognition of their work and have their art displayed on a Festivals Kelowna Pianos in Parks Program piano for the duration of the Summer 2023 installation. The winner will also receive a $50 Gift Card from Opus Art Supplies and a $50 Gift Card from King Taps – Kelowna Lakeside.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable or convertible to cash. No substitutions. Prizes will only be awarded to the person whose design has been selected as the winner.
Collection of Prize
The winner must collect the prize within 30 days of the prize draw. If not collected within 30 days, the Sponsor reserves the right to withhold the prize for a future use.
Prize winners must make arrangements with the Sponsor to collect the prize. If they are unable to personally collect the prize, they may designate and alternate person to do so.
Prize winners and/or their designated alternate must produce proof of ID in order to collect the prize.
