The Downtown Kelowna Association is calling for nominations for positions on the Board of Directors for the 2020–2022 and 2021–2023 terms.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions in 2020, the Board of Directors applied to delay the AGM and election until 2021, thus we are holding 2 AGM’s and 2 elections this year. As such, Directors that would have been up for election in 2020 had their term extended to this year, resulting in Board openings for 1 year and 2-year terms. Applicants can consider letting their name stand for a one year term (2021-22) and then run again in 2022 for a 2-year term OR apply for a 2 year term (2021-2023). Preference can be expressed on the nomination form. (If preference isn’t indicated, nominee’s name will automatically be included for the 2021–2023 term)

Nominees for the Board of Directors this year will:

  • Consent to the nomination
  • Be a property owner or tenant of Class 5 Light Industry or Class 6 Business Other properties within the Downtown Kelowna BIA boundary, or a duly authorized employee of property owner or tenant afore-described
  • Indicate if they wish to serve for a one (1) or two (2) year term
  • Attend monthly meetings from 4pm – 6pm
  • Have an active interest in Downtown Kelowna

On March 11, 2021, nomination forms may be picked up from the DKA office, emailed upon request or downloaded from our website here.

Nominations for a position with the DKA Board of Directors must be submitted to the Downtown Kelowna Association office located at 200 – 287 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 6N2 or by email to admin@downtownkelowna.com on or before 4:00 pm Friday, April 2, 2021.
